Tthe Paducah Symphony Children's Chorus conducted by Dr. Brad Almquist performed Christmas music and put everyone in the holiday spirit.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Sixteen Rotarians are celebrating birthdays in December. Ron Jackson was the winner of the weekly birthday floral arrangement from The Flower Galley.

The city has received complaints from residents of the Irvin Cobb that during our meetings, members park in the 20 minute parking space by the residents' entrance. If possible please try to not park in that zone.

Bill Dyer announced that this was another successful year for fund raising for the Salvation Army. Congratulations to Mike Resnick: this year's Hum Dinger Bell Ringer!

The Rotary Board of Directors will meet today, December 19th at 5:15 pm at Whaler's Catch.

As a reminder, there will be no meeting December 26th. The Rotary office will also be closed.

CHARITY DONATION

A charity donation was made to Steve Hawkins on behalf of the Dream Factory. The Dream Factory will use these funds to grant a dream to a children ages 3 - 18 who are affected by serious illnesses.

NEW MEMBER INDUCTED

Ronda Hays was inducted as our newest member today. Ronda is the Human Resource Director for Harper Industries. She is heavily involved with the Society for Human Resource Management. She serves as the Legislative Affairs Chairman for the Four Rivers Society for Human Resource Management. Ronda is a graduate of Mid-Continent College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership and Business Management. She's a member of the current Leadership Paducah class. In her free time she enjoys horseback riding, reading and cooking. Ronda was proposed by Mary Hammond.

FEATURED ROTARIAN BRENDA ALLCOCK

Today's featured Rotarian is Brenda Allcock. Brenda joined the Rotary Club of Paducah August 29th of this year. She spent 31 years working for the State of Kentucky and now serves as Marketing Director for Hughes Funeral Home. She is actively pursuing her license to become a funeral director.

Brenda is a co-founder of the Kentucky Bluebirds, an organization that strives to teach a love and understanding of nature to children in area schools. She is a member of Trace Creek Baptist Church. Brenda is married to Ricky and the two have two sons: Ben and Brent. In her free time she enjoys golf, antiquities and ready ancient spiritual texts.
