"Art,
Artists, and Community"
Dr.
William Renzulli, Gallery 5, Lowertown Artist
Dr. Bill Renzulli, his wife Patience,
and their pack of whippets, were pioneer participants in Paducah's
Lowertown Artist Relocation program. Dr. Renzulli spoke about the
intangible and immeasurable gifts that Lowertown artists have shared
with Paducah and the community has returned to the artists. Artists
are participants in the community, in the rich cultural activities
available here. Paducah has given the arts back to the artists, by
providing a home and an opportunity to invest in the community. The
value of the Lowertown Artist Program is in the intangibles.
Dr.
Renzulli shared before and after photographs of a variety of the homes
and galleries now beautifully renovated in the Lowertown neighborhood.
He also shared some images of his artwork-a variety of landscapes
and a pen and ink drawing of a hospital setup to prove he was a doctor!
