"Dig the Excitement"

The Southern Illinois Miners are digging in for a third successful season at Marion's Rent One Park. "Wild Bill" Glenn, Director of Onfield Entertainment and Scott Geirman, the "voice" for the minor league team, said they expect the Miners to again make it into the playoffs for the Frontier League championship this year.

The Miners team is primarily comprised of ball players who have played in the major league system and who are trying to work their way back up into the system.Geirman said, "We're one of the best teams in the league and we have the best park in the league."

Upcoming events include:

  • The Miners vs. the Evansville Otters on May 16th at 7 pm at Paducah's Brooks Stadium. All proceeds benefit Brooks Stadium.
  • Miners Season Opener on May 29th

The Miners will play ninety-six regular season games this year. For more information on game times and tickets visit www.southernillinoisminers.com or call 618-998-8499.
