"Bugs Bunny on Broadway"

Paducah Symphony Orchestra, 30th Anniversary Celebration

Bugs Bunny on Broadway will be arriving at the Carson Four Rivers Center this Saturday to help the Paducah Symphony Orchestra celebrate it's 30th season of performances. In partnership with Warners Brothers, the symphony will perform live in conjunction with the beloved cartoons projected on a big screen, featuring Elmer Fudd, Daffy Duck and the rest of the Loony Tunes gang.

Darlene Dreyer, Executive Director of the PSO said the special concert will appeal to kids of all ages as they savor the classical music that made so many of the cartoons memorable. The season's celebration continues on October 4th with Diamonds & Pearls-A 30th Anniversary Gala, which includes a special reception with the orchestra's professional musicians.

Another notable feature of the anniversary season is a partnership with Paducah's Metropolitan Hotel in February featuring vocalist Abby Burke, who will honor the music of Duke Ellington, B.B. King, Billie Holiday and others that stayed at the hotel during it's heyday. Dreyer is also excited about the musical celebration of Abraham Lincoln's 200th birthday entitled "My Kentucky Home" in March.

Other concerts and events this season are: Dancin' in the Seats-November 1st Diamonds & Pearls Little Black Dress Fall Ball-November 15th Holiday POPS-December 13th A Child's Christmas-December 14th In a Metropolitan Mood-February 21st Father Daughter Dance-February 28th My Kentucky Home: A Lincoln Celebration-March 21st Porgy & Bess-April 18th Spring Chorus Concert-May 3rd My Country, My Hometown: Annual POPS Concert-May 16th Tickets are still available for all concerts and events.
